KNOW YOUR ELIGIBILITY FOR UPSC 2018



EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:-

If you have any of the following qualification, you are eligible for applying UPSCCivil Services Examination.
  1. A Degree from a Central, State or Deemed University of India which are recognized by the University Grant Commission of India.
  2. A Degree received through Correspondence or Distance Education any of the UGC recognized University.
  3. A Degree received from an Open University which is recognized by the UGC.
  4. A Qualification which is recognized by the Government of India as being equivalent to one of the above.
And also if you are falls under any of the following category of qualification, you are also eligible but must submit proof of their eligibility from a competent authority at their institute/University at the time of Mains Examination, otherwise you will not be allowed to attend the Mains Examination.
1.      If you have appeared in an examination, the passing of which would render eligibility qualification criteria as cited above.
2.      If you have cleared MBBS degree but yet to complete your Internship.
3.      If you have cleared the final Exams of ICAI, ICSI and ICWAI.
4.      If you have a degree from any Foreign University which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.

AGE LIMIT :-

Rumors are there that Age Limit may be reduced to 30 or 28 etc from 32 years, but please wait upto the time when Notification comes out and no need for worrying as there is very less chances for changing the age limit as per the reliable sources.

General Candidates : If you have attained 21 years and have not crossed 32 years as on 1st of August of the year of Examination.
OBC Candidates : If you have attained 21 years and have not crossed 35 years as on 1st of August of the year of Examination.
SC/ST Candidates : If you have attained 21 years and have not crossed 37 years as on 1st of August of the year of Examination.
Other Relaxations are there for PH/Ex-Servicemen as per different conditions.

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS :-

For General Candidates : 6 attempts
For OBC Candidates : 9 attempts
For SC/ST Candidates : Unlimited attempts till 37 years of Age.
Note : If you have applied in any of the year but didn’t appeared the Examination, this will not be counted in your number attempts.
